Thank you for using Tip Split Plus ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the App. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2 Information
2.1 Information You Enter
The App processes data you enter directly, including:
- Bill amounts, tip percentages, and tax values
- Names you assign to people in a split
- Dish names and amounts you enter
- Currency preferences
2.2 Information Stored Locally
All data you enter is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's UserDefaults and local on-device storage. This includes:
- Your saved bill history (up to 50 records)
- Your preferred tip percentage
- Your preferred currency
- Your preferred rounding mode
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
- Personal identifiers (name, email address, phone number)
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Location data
- Any data on remote servers
3 How We Use Information
Since all data remains on your device, we only use your information to:
- Display calculation results within the App
- Remember your preferences between sessions
- Save your bill history for future reference
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the App's core functionality.
4 Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, share, or disclose your data to any third parties. Because all data is stored locally on your device, no data is transmitted to our servers or any external service.
The only way your data leaves your device is if you explicitly choose to share a bill summary using the built-in Share feature, in which case you control what is shared and with whom.
5 Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate with any third-party SDKs, analytics services, advertising networks, or data processors. There are no in-app purchases, subscriptions, or payment processors.
6 Data Retention and Deletion
Your bill history is stored locally on your device. You can manage or delete this data at any time by:
- Deleting the App from your device, which removes all associated data
- Clearing App data via iOS Settings › General › iPhone Storage › Tip Split Plus › Delete App
We do not retain any copies of your data because we never receive it.
7 Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since no personal data is collected by us, the App does not present specific risks in this regard.
8 Security
Because all data is stored locally on your device using Apple's standard storage mechanisms, your data inherits the security protections provided by iOS, including device encryption and passcode protection. We recommend keeping your device and iOS up to date to benefit from the latest security features.
9 Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
